The Tata Nano was once called the world’s cheapest car, and it’s returning in a big way in 2025 as an electric vehicle. It marks a step forward in the global movement towards sustainable and green transportation.

Design and Features

The 2025 Tata Nano EV maintains the shape of a compact hatchback to ensure easy mobility through congested city roads. Even though the vehicle is pretty small, there is ample space for four people inside and provides an excellent way to get around town. The recent upgrades include an in-dash infotainment system featuring a touchscreen monitor that makes for a more pleasant drive.

The Nano EV is powered by an electric motor. It can drive up to 250 kilometers with a single charge, thus allowing for daily commute. It can be driven through a compact city or urban area easily because of its compact size and maneuverability. Smooth acceleration and very quiet running characterize it.

Tata Nano Affordability and Market Position

Tata Motors is looking forward to pricing the Nano EV as an ‘affordable’ electric car, continuing its legacy as a budget-friendly vehicle. As for the exact pricing, the company hasn’t announced it yet, but they continue to endeavor for accessible electric mobility by targeting a wide range of consumers.

Tata Nano Engine and Performance Details

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) Estimated to deliver between 25-35 kW (33-47 horsepower), sufficient for city driving. Expected to produce instant torque, ensuring smooth acceleration even in heavy traffic.

Tata Nano Battery

Lithium-ion battery pack. Likely to be between 17-20 kWh for an optimal balance of range and cost-efficiency. Approximately 6-8 hours using a home charger.  Expected to support DC fast charging, achieving 80% charge in under an hour.
