Kia unveiled its Kia EV4, and man, it came out looking something pretty great. A glimpse of how the new electric ride from Kia specially designed based on its E-GMP platform could offer both sedan and hatchback styles. Yeah, it’s got that new modern vibe we all anticipate, considering Kia’s already breaking ground in the Indian electric lineup.
Inside the Kia EV4
This is going to be a 30-inch panorama display that welcomes you when entering. This very same thing Kia is offering. It’s something like your own personal control room with two 12.3-inch screens employing all from your speed to your entertainment. And your climate controls are handled by a smaller 5.3-inch screen. For those who enjoy their music, there are ambient light options and a Harman Kardon sound system in all of its glory. It should be able to make your ride feel premium and connected.
Fueling Your Drive: Battery and Efficiency
So, this is the crucial topic that we will be discussing- under the hood. There are two battery options. One will be the 58.3 kWh pack, which offers a healthy driving range of 430 km, great for everyday driving. For going on long journeys, the pack with an 81.4 kWh battery will extend that distance by a decent 630 km on one charge. Both variants will come with a 150kW electric motor on the front axle, so whatever driving modes you enjoy, you’ll be fine both navigating densely-populated areas or enjoying open spaces and cruising along the highway.
Keeping You Safe Safety Equipment
Kia’s big thing about the Kia EV4 is safety. Towards that end, it is equipped with lots of the features of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Those features include automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist and even remote parking assist. Of course, standard fare like airbags, multiple units, ABS, EBD and parking sensors complement safety features. It’s all about mental serenity on the road.
When Will It Hit Indian Roads? And How Much?
So, no, KIA is not announcing officially when the Kia EV4 will come to India. But having trademarked the name very recently, things look good. Considering that the EV6 and EV9 were successfully introduced here, it would be a no-brainer for EV4 to take this opportunity as well. But the price remains open-ended. We’re just going to have to wait to find out how much it retails for after launch, but perhaps we can safely guess that it will pitch itself into the increasingly growing Indian electric vehicle market.
