Web Series: A lovely image of family, feelings, and little dreams appears in our minds whenever recollections of the 1990s are relived. A similar sentiment has also been evoked by the recently launched Telugu web series ‘Home Town’ on the Aha platform. The 1990s, when immense joy was concealed in every little thing, are once more glimpsed in this novel.
The story of a middle-class family and their dreams
The 2003 Telangana village of Hanumantulgudem is the setting for the narrative “Home Town,” in which a typical family battles with their aspirations. Prasad is a regular guy who operates a little photo studio. His world revolves around his wife and their two kids, Jyoti and Srikant. While the girl excels academically, Srikant, the son, is having difficulty navigating life’s obstacles. The core of this series is these familial sentiments, dreams, and challenges.
Can Srikant travel overseas? Will he be able to improve his sister’s and his future? ‘Home Town’ will provide you with the answers to these questions.
Performances laced with emotions and a slightly slow pace
Prajwal Yadav’s poignant series of episodes has won him hearts. Jhansi and Rajiv Kankala have performed brilliantly as real middle-class parents. Annie has also given her role life, and her performance in the conclusion is particularly striking. The story is also made more interesting by Sairam’s humour.
The fourth episode slows down the plot a little, but the first three are humorous and poignant. The fifth episode appears to be a bit less strong than anticipated. The series’s impact might have been greater if the climax had been a bit more nuanced.
