When it comes to adventure motorcycles, finding the perfect balance between affordability, performance, and features can be tricky. But CFMoto seems to have cracked the code with the CFMoto 450MT, an adventure touring motorcycle that’s set to make waves in the market. I had the chance to test a prototype, and here’s why this bike deserves attention.
Rugged and Compact Design
The CFMoto 450MT immediately catches the eye with its aggressive and purposeful design. It resembles the Yamaha Tenere 700 but carries its own unique identity. The sharp bodywork, compact headlamp unit, and angular front mudguard give it a true adventure-bike feel.
The adjustable windscreen adds functionality, while the bold fuel tank design with dual-tone colors enhances road presence. The rear section remains minimalistic, with large grab rails for added comfort. Overall, the 450MT looks like a serious off-road machine.
Loaded with Features
CFMoto is known for offering great value for money, and the CFMoto 450MT follows suit. It comes with dual-channel ABS (with switchable rear ABS for off-road fun), traction control, and KYB adjustable suspension. The TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity, slipper clutch, and foldable rearview mirrors make it a well-equipped adventure bike.
On top of that, the rally-style windscreen, adjustable seat height, and Type-C and Type-A charging ports add convenience, making it perfect for long rides.
Smooth and Powerful Performance
The 450cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft produces 44bhp at 8,500rpm and 44Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. This results in strong low-end torque for city riding and a smooth mid-range for highway cruising.
The refinement levels are impressive, and at times, the engine feels as smooth as a Japanese counterpart. However, fueling at low revs felt a bit choppy, something CFMoto 450MT might improve before the final launch.
Capable Off-Roader
The CFMoto 450MT is a blast off-road. The switchable ABS at the rear, combined with strong suspension and responsive handling, makes it easy to tackle rough trails. The Ambro off-road tires work well on dirt but could use an upgrade for better road grip.
Expected to launch in India later this year, the CFMoto 450MT could disrupt the adventure segment if priced around ₹5 lakh. With great styling, a refined engine, and off-road capabilities, it’s an exciting option for adventure seekers.
