The electric scooter market in India is witnessing a sudden spurt and has seen much competition from its major players. Thus, Honda strategized the introduction of the electric version of the iconic Activa scooter, coupled with a relatively more affordable QC1 model, to keep pace with the trend while keeping in touch with the demands of Indian consumers in this changing context.
Activa Electric two variants for diverse needs
Honda has launched the Activa Electric, or Activa e, in two variants. The base model comes with a sticker price of Rs 1.17 lakh, ex-showroom, which gives a competitive entry into electric mobility for those seeking it. The premium Activa e RoadSync Duo will be sold at Rs 1.52 lakh, ex-showroom, for those looking at feature-rich products and performance.
Budget-Friendly Electric Mobility
As a more affordable product, the QC1 has been launched in just one variant, priced at ex-showroom Rs 90,000. This will also make it more accessible to a larger number of customers, further opening up the doors of electric mobility for more Indian customers.
Availability and Booking
Both Activa Electric and QC1 are open for bookings in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh among other major cities across India. The booking amount is only one thousand rupees and has been worked on on an easy pattern. Both the machines will be delivered from February 2025 onward, a great development point for India’s electric vehicle module.
Warranty and customer support
To give the customer confidence, Honda is providing an all-inclusive warranty package for both models. The warranty will cover 3 years or 50,000 kilometers. In addition, customers will receive free services and roadside assistance in the first year of ownership to make the transition to electric two-wheelers as smooth as possible.
Battery, Range, and Charging
The Activa Electric is powered by a cutting-edge 1.5 kWh swappable battery, which enables an impressive range of up to 102 kilometers on a single charge. This innovative swappable battery system, developed by Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd., not only enhances charging convenience but also addresses the growing demand for sustainable and efficient urban transportation solutions.
Conclusion
The launch of the Honda Activa Electric and QC1 is an important step for India’s electric vehicle market. Equipped with a great brand, high technology, and well-balanced price, Honda is more apt to garner a significant market share in this fast-growing segment. These new launches will add momentum to electric two-wheeler adoption in India and pave a greener and more sustainable future.
