The Honda WR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV that has been a popular choice in emerging markets since its launch in 2017. In India, the WR-V was introduced in 2017 and received a facelift in 2020. However, in 2023, Honda launched the Elevate SUV in India, which is now marketed as the WR-V in Japan.
Honda WR-V Design and Features
The WR-V features a bold and sporty design with sleek LED headlights, a distinctive front grille, and rugged body cladding that enhances its SUV appeal. It is equipped with 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and roof rails, adding to its dynamic look. Inside, the WR-V offers a spacious cabin with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, and ample boot space of 363 liters.
Honda WR-V Engine and Performance
The WR-V is powered by a 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine producing 90 PS at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant comes with a 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine delivering 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Honda WR-V Safety Features
The WR-V is equipped with advanced safety features, including ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, side airbags, and a rearview camera. It also features impact-mitigating headrests and a body structure designed to absorb and dissipate energy during a collision.
Honda WR-V Pricing and Availability
As of now, the WR-V is not available in the Indian market, having been replaced by the Honda Elevate. In Japan, the WR-V is available in three variants: X, Z, and Z+. Pricing details for the Japanese market can be obtained from local Honda dealerships.
