Indian Army NCC Special Entry 2025:The Indian Army has announced the 58th NCC Special Entry Scheme Course, which is set to commence in October 2025. This is a great opportunity for unmarried male and female candidates, including the wards of battle casualties of Army personnel, to join the Indian Army as Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers.
A brief notification was released on 14th December 2024, and the online application process started on 14th February 2025. Interested candidates can apply until 15th March 2025. Unlike other recruitment processes, there will be no written exam for this selection. Educational Qualification
For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders: The candidate should have a degree from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks. Students in their final year may also apply, having obtained at least 50% marks in the first two/three years of their degree course. Moreover, the applicants must have had a minimum two/three years service in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC and must have secured a minimum ‘B’ grade in the ‘C’ Certificate exam.
For Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel: A graduation degree from a reputed university with minimum 50% aggregate marks. NCC ‘C’ Certificate is not needed for this category.
Age Limit
Candidates must be aged between 19 to 25 years as of 1st July 2025. This means applicants should be born between 2nd July 2000 and 1st July 2006 (both dates inclusive).
NCC 58th Course Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic performance and NCC credentials. The selection process includes a two-stage SSB (Services Selection Board) interview at designated centres.
Stage I consists of the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and the Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates who pass Stage I will move on to Stage II, where they will go through a set of tests including Psychological Tests, Group Tasks, and Interviews to assess their suitability for the job.
Shortlisted candidates after Stage II will be given a thorough medical check-up to ascertain whether they are medically fit according to the standards required. Lastly, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the SSB process, medical fitness, and overall eligibility.

Indian Army NCC Special Entry 2025 Training Details
- Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- After successfully completing the training, candidates will be granted a Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.
- Additionally, they will receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras.
