Licensee: The same old story is being repeated once again in Bhojpuri cinema, where obscenity is served in the name of entertainment. Nelkamal Singh and Akanksha Puri’s new song ‘Licensed’ has become the latest example of this debate.
Vulgar lyrics and the deteriorating image of Bhojpuri
The lyrics of this song “Raat bivalve saath mein chal”, “Asli mard pehchaan jaibu”, and “Laagila thoke, kehu naa roke, aave je emergency” openly cross the limits of vulgarity. It is indeed worrying that while there is a need to promote Bhojpuri language and culture, such content is further tarnishing its image.
Views, but is this success
The song may be doing well in terms of views it has received more than 1.87 million views within 24 hours of its release on the ‘Saregama Hum Bhojpuri’ channel but is views alone the measure of success? This is a question every person who loves Bhojpuri cinema should ask themselves today.
Akanksha Puri and the industry’s responsibility
But is the only motive to go viral? When a beautiful and talented actress like Akanksha Puri becomes a part of such songs, it not only disappoints her fans but also damages the reputation of the Bhojpuri industry.
