Streamline Your Ration Card Easily Add Family Members Online

The process of getting another member included on your ration card is, generally speaking, one of the greatest bureaucratic adventures possible. Thanks to digitalization, however, such a procedure today is far from being arduous. Under the scheme initiated by the government, a friendly “Mera Ration App 2.0” has been presented to empower all citizens to successfully add family members from the comfort of their homes and enjoy ration cards.

Documentation required

Before entering into this online journey, be sure to have the following documents in digital form before initiating. Aadhaar Card of the New Member: This is a proof of identity for the person being added to the ration card. Bank Account Passbook: This will give a proof of your bank account that is usually registered with your ration card benefits. Income Certificate: It is a certificate showing the family’s income, which is an essential criterion for receiving certain ration card benefits.

Caste Certificate

If the family belongs to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, this document will be required. Address Proof: This document ensures that the new member and existing ration card holders are residing at the present residential address. Active Mobile Number: An active mobile number is necessary for obtaining OTPs and notifications from the entire process. Passport-sized Photo: Passport size recent photograph of the new member is also needed to be taken for being added in ration card records.

Mera Ration App 2.0

Entire process for adding a new member can be easily handled with the Mera Ration App 2.0. Download and Install: First of all, download the app from the Google Play Store on your smartphone. OTP Verification: On opening the app, you will be asked to enter your mobile number that is registered with your Aadhaar card. An OTP will be sent to this number for verification purposes.

Create MPIN

For greater security and convenience, an MPIN will be created within the application. This way, you do not have to type in your Aadhaar details every time. Add New Member: Go to the “Family Details” menu in the app dashboard. The ration card will have a list of all existing family members. Click on “Add New Member”. Fill and Submit: The new member’s information will be filled out in the required details in the online form, and attached documents will be uploaded accordingly.

Monitor Progress

After you have submitted your application, the app itself lets you track its progress. It reports on the status of your request, keeping you informed every step of the way. With the user-friendly interface of the Mera Ration App 2.0, citizens can now add new members to their ration cards in an efficient and convenient manner, ensuring that all eligible family members benefit from the essential food security programs. This digital initiative not only streamlines government services but also empowers citizens by providing them with greater control and transparency in accessing essential entitlements.
