The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, or PM-Kisan, is a helping hand for the agricultural backbone of India. This scheme provides a total of ₹6,000 annually in three installments of ₹2,000 each. However, as the 19th installment is approaching, farmers may be concerned about whether they are eligible. Let’s discuss the eligibility criteria so that the financial aid flows smoothly.

Who Eligible for PM Kisan 19th Installment

To be eligible for the 19th instalment in the year 2024, one needs to be a farmer having the following prerequisites: Landownership: This scheme is for the small and marginal farmer families and the land should be cultivable and not more than 2 hectares in area. This will depend on the record maintained by the government of a particular state or union territory.

Family Unit: The PM-Kisan Yojana defines a “family” as a unit, which includes a farmer, his or her spouse (husband/wife), and minor children. Identification by State Government: Identification of beneficiaries eligible for the scheme is essentially through the state or union territory administration. e-KYC Completion: Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) is also an essential condition for receiving installments without delay. It can be done online as well as offline.

Land Verification

This is another important process wherein land ownership verification takes place. The farmers, who till now have not got their land records verified, should do so in order to avoid any kind of hindrance in receiving their installments. Aadhaar-Bank Account Linkage: In order to receive funds, it is necessary to have your Aadhaar card linked with your bank account. For this, you may visit your bank branch.

Some more points to note

The probable date for disbursement of the 19th installment will fall within the first week of February 2025. The government still needs to provide an official release. Keep in mind that the PM-Kisan Yojana is not open to some individuals. Former and current constitutional post holders, ministers, Members of Parliament or Legislative Assemblies, and government employees are also disqualified, although a few exceptions exist.

By meeting these eligibility criteria and completing the necessary steps, small and marginal farmers can continue to reap the financial benefits offered by the PM-Kisan Yojana. This scheme serves as a valuable source of support, helping them meet their agricultural needs and contribute significantly to India’s food security.
