In Madhya Pradesh, thousands of women eagerly wait every month for the financial support they receive under the Ladli Behna Yojana. For many households, this monthly assistance has become a crucial support system. But this April, the wait has been longer than expected, leaving many women anxious and raising political questions as well.

Scheduled Date for April Installment Revealed

Usually, the installment of ₹1,250 is credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts by the 10th of every month. However, this time, no money has reached their accounts even as mid-April approaches. The delay has not gone unnoticed. Opposition leaders from the Congress party have questioned the government, demanding an explanation for the delay in disbursing funds that support women’s financial independence.

According to Mandla district collector Somesh Mishra, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is scheduled to visit the village of Tikarwara in Mandla district on April 16. During a grand mass wedding event for 1,100 daughters, he will also release the Ladli Behna Yojana installment. Along with the financial transfer, the Chief Minister will participate in the inauguration and foundation-stone laying of several development projects.

Political Tensions Over Payment Delays

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded to the concerns, stating that the government has always tried to ensure timely payments under the scheme. They reassured the public that even this time, the delay is temporary, and all eligible women will receive their due funds shortly.

This isn’t the first time the installment has been delayed. Earlier, during festivals like Maha Shivratri or election seasons, there have been instances where the amount was either transferred early or after a short delay. For many women, these inconsistencies create stress and uncertainty, especially when they depend on this assistance for everyday needs.
