According to multiple reports, Mohammed Shami received a death threat through an email on Sunday afternoon. His grandfather, Hasib, confirmed this. Soon after the email, Shami’s family filed a complaint at the Amroha police station.

Police Begin Investigation
Based on the complaint, the police have started an investigation. Shami’s grandfather said that the email came around Sunday afternoon and included a threat to kill Shami. According to sources, the email also demanded ₹1 crore from Shami’s family. However, the exact reason behind the threat has not been revealed by the family yet.

Shami’s Current IPL Status
Mohammed Shami is currently part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in IPL 2025. But he has not been a regular in the playing eleven due to fitness issues. He was also not included in the match against Delhi. The recent death threats have only added to his worries during this difficult time.
