Uttar Pradesh is also witnessing a significant change in weather. Thunderstorms and rain have caused a sudden temperature drop, providing relief to people from the ongoing heatwave. This change is not temporary in nature. In the next few days, various regions of the state are likely to see repeated spells of rain, thunder, and gusty winds.
Unstable Conditions to Continue Across UP
A change in weather conditions has been observed suddenly throughout Uttar Pradesh. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms was experienced in most places in the morning, leading to a perceptible fall in temperature. The severity of rainfall and thunderstorms is set to further intensify, as per latest reports. It has been categorically informed by the Indian Meteorological Department that the coming four days would be challenging for most regions of the state. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rain are likely to prevail up to May 25.
Severe Rain Warning for Eastern UP
A yellow alert has been sounded for the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Thunder and rain activity will go on for the next 12 hours with wind blowing at 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. It is a warning for several areas, and individuals are suggested to be cautious and undertake safety precautions. These include sheltering indoors while there is lightning and avoiding any non-essential movement during heavy rainfall and strong winds.
Heavy Rain Alert in 40 Districts
According to the IMD prediction, 40 districts are expected to experience this weather condition. They are Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur. Moderate to heavy rain is expected to persist in Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, and Sonbhadrawng from the alert list are Chandauli, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Basti. Rain is forecast in Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, and Gonda. Western zones such as Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur have also been warned.
Slight Decrease in Maximum Temperature Brings Relief
As per the Meteorological Department, there will be a fall of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in most districts. This offers temporary respite from the searing summer heat. No significant change is anticipated in the minimum temperature. The wind, rain, thunder, and lightning will prevail until at least May 25, and the state government may issue further warnings if the intensity increases.
Individuals in Uttar Pradesh are asked to monitor local weather forecasts on a regular basis and take appropriate safety measures, particularly in zones indicated for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
