Kia Syros Unveiled Globally As The Most Premium Sub 4m SUV In India

Kia India is gearing up to roll out its all-new compact SUV which is expected to be named Syros in the petrol guise. Its electric version could, however, be called Clavis. The Syros sub-compact SUV is likely to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show scheduled to take place between 17th to 22nd January 2025. Being a model positioned between Sonet and Seltos, the Syros has been spied numerous times, giving us an idea of its new features.

Kia Syros Exterior Design

Earlier speculations of the new Syros indicated it would have an external body design that’s nothing but different. The design of this one will be boxy, straight-lined with a flat bottom, featuring a signature Tiger Nose grille for the front fascia, vertical LED lighting along with stylish DRLs, and a split headlamp setup. This compact SUV might boast of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the back, the rear profile would feature vertically stacked tail lamps connected through a horizontal light bar.

The Syros will obtain some segment-best features which include an electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and panoramic sunroof. The Compact SUV will be also supported with a dual 10.2-inch screen of infotainment and Instrument Console, wireless Apple car play and Android auto
Safety Features

New Syros from Kia would come with numerous safety features. Some of those features include an image of the car from 360 degrees, six airbags as standard fitments, TPMS, front & rear parking sensors, and disc brakes at the rear. It is also expected to be equipped with a radar-based ADAS which will include features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Assist.

Kia Syros Powertrain Details

The new Syros will draw power from a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This 3-cylinder unit would deliver 116 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. It would be offered in the guise of a 6-speed manual and also as a dual-clutch automatic transmission. There may be rumors that the basic models might come with the same 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, this time, only with a manual transmission. A CNG version will also follow afterwards.

The electric version will come with a battery pack of around 40-45kWh with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. It will provide a range of up to 400km on a single charge. It is said that Kia is also planning hybrid cars for India. The Kia Syros can be Kia’s first hybrid car in India, but no official word has been given.

Kia Syros Launch, Expected Price

The accurate launch timeline is yet to be announced by the brand. We can expect its petrol-powered Syros to be launched in mid-2025 while its electric version could arrive six months after its ICE model launch. As for the price, the Syros is expected to be priced at around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
