Uttar Pradesh has taken one more gigantic leap toward making the future greener. The state government has fully exempted hybrid cars from registration fees. Expectations from this decision are that it will not only give a boost to the sales of eco-friendly vehicles but also help in serious saving for the consumers. The state government is now doing its best to encourage people to use more hybrid technology to reduce their carbon footprint, thereby helping to create a more clean environment.

A Win for Consumers and the Environment

The Uttar Pradesh government has eased hybrid cars into everyone’s pockets with this latest step. Hybrid models like Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Honda City today boast savings worth as much as ₹3.5 lakh. Significant cost-cutting in the overall ownership is likely to make buyers opt for a hybrid vehicle over a traditional petrol or diesel car.

Hybrid Car Sales Boosted

The step is likely to cause a ripple of effect in enhancing sales of hybrid cars in Uttar Pradesh as the fees for registration would be saved and it would effectively reduce the initial purchase cost of a hybrid vehicle, hence making it an attractive deal for customers. The automobile manufacturers would thereby face increased demand in their hybrid models within the state.

Models and Savings in Particular

Direct benefit to the people is hybrid models like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Invicto. With the fees for its registration gone, the prices of these vehicles have come down substantially. The prices of Maruti Grand Vitara are down by nearly ₹2 lakh. One must remember that this is applicable only for the vehicles registered in Uttar Pradesh.

In short, whereas the government of Uttar Pradesh cannot lower the alarmingly increasing population or increase the pollution rate of the state, at least it is taking one correct and honorable step forward by thinking of exempting hybrid cars from the deposition of registration fees. Hybrid cars are becoming easy to afford for the people of the state and are promoting the usage of eco-friendly vehicles, which in turn will finally lead to a cleaner environment.
