To cater to the steadily increasing need for fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles in India, Tata Motors has introduced the CNG variant of the Nexon. Nexon CNG is more desirable than the base version of the vehicle in terms of style, features, and affordability, especially for the commute between cities and towns.
Design and Features
The Tata Nexon CNG has essentially the same design as its petrol cousin, but with a chunky front grille, projector headlamps, and fog lamps. The side profile boasts blacked-out C-pillars and roof rails and gives the car a sporty look. The boot at the rear is huge and spacious and comes fitted with LED taillamps.
Inside, the Nexon CNG features a good comfort package and rich equipment. Ventilated seats, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, an air purifier, climate control, and a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are some of its notable equipment. More features include a multi-function steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, 360-degree camera, and a sunroof, all making it a joy to drive.
Powertrain and Performance
And what beats under its skin? Well, there’s a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged CNG engine that churns out 99 bhp. And transmissions are via a six-speed manual. Its combined fuel tank capacity reads 104 liters, which comprises 60 liters of CNG and 44 liters of petrol. The claimed mileage for the same goes as 25-27 kilometers per kg in CNG mode.
Pricing and Variants
The Tata Nexon CNG has been launched with a series of variants. The base variant will be priced at ₹8.99 lakhs and the top trims will begin at ₹14.59 lakhs, with all prices being tagged as ex-showroom. The SUV will seat five and provides adequate boot space with 321 litres available.
Then, obviously, one of the most compelling options for a low-ownership-cost compact SUV would be the Tata Nexon CNG. This one offers a very rich array of features and pretty reasonable fuel economy; it’ll likely be the best option for the Indian market. Styling and practical appeal of the Nexon CNG may be considered one of its best selling features.
