Rajasthan Weather: The weather in Rajasthan is making a drastic change. After intense heat, warnings of heavy rain and storms are now being issued in many parts of the state. As the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the alerts, both the public and the farmers have been warned to remain alert for the next couple of days.
Sudden Shift in Weather Patterns
Rajasthan is experiencing an unexpected change in weather patterns as a result of the combined forces of Bay of Bengal moisture and western disturbances. The change is expected to be accompanied by heavy rain and powerful storms in most districts. IMD has marked Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Nagaur, Jaipur, Dausa, and Alwar as high-alert districts. These districts could also witness hailstorms.
It is also expected to be accompanied by rain and strong winds of 40 to 50 km/h. The sudden shift in weather has led authorities to issue cautions for people to keep away from open spaces, stay away from trees, and keep away from weak structures. Farmers have also been asked to make preparations to shield their crops from potential harm.
Sizzling Heat Persists in Some Regions
While some are getting ready for storms, others are still facing the clutch of a heatwave. Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner are still experiencing temperatures over 40°C, with some locations even breaching 45°C. The intense heat has made everyday life very tough. Residents of these regions are fighting the scorching sun, with blazing hot winds making it more difficult to venture out. The weather is so bad that even minor exposure can lead to heat-related illnesses. The IMD has added these districts to its list of heatwave alerts.
IMD Advisory for the Public
Due to the combination of strong winds, rain, and continued heat, IMD has urged the public to stay indoors as much as possible. In areas expecting storms, people are asked not to seek shelter under trees or near unstable buildings. Meanwhile, those in heatwave zones should keep themselves hydrated and avoid unnecessary travel during the day. Even though a minor temperature decrease is anticipated with rain falling in certain regions, the IMD has said that general weather conditions are expected to remain the same over the next 48 hours.
