Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, in India by March 2025. This vehicle marks the company’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market, aiming to compete with models like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

The e Vitara showcases a modern SUV design with a boxy shape and muscular wheel arches.It features sleek LED headlamps and wraparound LED taillights connected by a black insert.The SUV measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Depending on the variant, it rides on 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.

The e Vitara will be available with two battery options 49 kWh Battery This configuration offers front-wheel drive (FWD) with an electric motor producing 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque. 61 kWh Battery Available in both FWD and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants.The FWD version delivers 171 bhp and 189 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant combines a front motor (181 bhp) and a rear motor (64 bhp) to produce a total torque of 300 Nm.

the e Vitara is anticipated to offer a futuristic cockpit with integrated displays and advanced technology features. Recent spy shots suggest the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and dual screens in the India-spec model.

Safety features are expected to include six to eight airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability program (ESP), and ISOFIX child seat mounting points. Higher variants may also come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, and connected car technology.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launch and Availability
The e Vitara is scheduled to make its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, with the official launch planned for March 2025.It will be produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant, which will serve as a production hub for both domestic and international markets, including Europe and Japan.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Pricing
While official pricing has not been announced, the e Vitara is expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).
