A big update has come regarding the announcement of India’s new Test captain and the team for the upcoming England tour. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee and head coach Gautam Gambhir are likely to announce the Indian team on May 24. The new Test captain will also be named on the same day.
Due to concerns over Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, Shubman Gill is being seen as the leading contender for the captain’s role. Bumrah has led India in three Test matches so far, including two in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
