When the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals face each other on Wednesday, both teams will be looking for a win. If Delhi Capitals lose this match, they will be out of the tournament, while Mumbai will confirm their place in the playoffs. On the other hand, if Mumbai lose, they will still have one more chance to reach the playoffs.
Mumbai seem to have the upper hand in the match at Wankhede Stadium. The team made a strong comeback after a poor start and is now in the top four. Delhi, who started the season well, have won only one of their last six matches.
Mumbai Aims to Use Their Strong Combination
All eyes will be on Mumbai’s star player Rohit Sharma, as this will be his first match after announcing his retirement from Test cricket. The experienced opener will look to give his best and help his team win. Mumbai will also try to make the most of their strong current team combination.
Suryakumar in Form, Tilak Needs to Fire
Suryakumar Yadav has been in excellent form and will want to continue performing well. However, Tilak Verma has not been at his best. The left-hander has failed to score double digits in three of the last five matches. Mumbai has brought in Jonny Bairstow in place of Ryan Rickelton, hoping for more stability at the top.
Delhi’s Struggles Continue
Delhi missed their top pacer Mitchell Starc (14 wickets) in the last match against Gujarat, who did not return after the IPL resumed. Without Starc, Delhi lost that match by 10 wickets, exposing their bowling weaknesses.
KL Rahul Holds the Key
KL Rahul has been Delhi’s main run-scorer with 493 runs and even scored a century against Gujarat Titans. But apart from him, Delhi’s batting has not been consistent. Mustafizur Rahman, who replaced Starc, did bowl well, but the rest of the bowling failed to impress.

Poor Second Half for Delhi
Delhi started their IPL campaign strongly, winning five of their first six matches. But the second half has been disappointing. While Kuldeep Yadav has taken 12 wickets and kept one end tight, Axar Patel has struggled. The Delhi captain has taken just five wickets and scored 263 runs so far.
