Suitcase Near Bengaluru Tracks: A horrifying scene unfolded near the old Chandapura railway bridge in southern Bengaluru when a suitcase containing the body of a young girl was discovered by the railway tracks close to Hosur main road. The victim is believed to be around 18 years old. Initial suspicion suggests the suitcase was discarded from a moving train, possibly after being packed at a different location.

Grim Find Near Chandapura Bridge

The suitcase was first spotted by local railway workers near the tracks. Upon opening it, they discovered the body of an unidentified girl. There were no identification documents or personal belongings found with the body, making it difficult for authorities to confirm her identity.

The case came under the attention of the Suryanagar police, who completed the preliminary inspection. The Baiyappanahalli railway police are expected to take over the investigation, as it falls under railway jurisdiction. However, since the suitcase was found in the local area, the local police remain actively involved.

Officials Respond, Investigation Intensifies

CK Baba, the Superintendent of Police for Bengaluru Rural, stated that early signs indicate the suitcase was thrown from railway property, likely from a moving train. This has led authorities to suspect the body was transported from another location and disposed of to hide evidence. With no leads on the girl’s identity, police are now focusing on CCTV footage, missing persons reports, and forensic analysis of the suitcase. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are exploring all possibilities.

Context of a Recent Similar Case

This incident bears a chilling resemblance to another case from Karnataka in 2024. On May 12, the body of a 14-year-old tribal girl, who was deaf and mute, was found near railway tracks in Ramanagara. Following that tragedy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had visited the victim’s family in Bhadrapura village and assured that the case would be thoroughly investigated. “We will not interfere in the investigation. Let the police probe all angles, whether it is vengeance, an affair, rape, or anything else,” he said.

Police Appeal for Information

Authorities urge the public to report any missing persons matching the girl’s description or any suspicious activity near railway areas. Until the victim is identified, her story remains untold, and justice unserved.
